Exhibition at Street SmARTs Gallery
My artwork has officially been accepted to hang at Street SmARTs Studios & Gallery in Oklahoma City. With an 8 by 12 foot space, rotating displays, and a lot of creative decisions ahead, this four month gallery chapter is equal parts exciting and nerve wracking. Come along as I figure out what hangs, what rotates, and what surprises unfold.

Stacked Serenity: How a Painting Survived the Village Arts Festival
At this year’s Village Arts Festival, my painting Stacked Serenity took an unexpected tumble when a gust of wind knocked over a display wall, tearing two gashes in the canvas. What followed was a careful repair process, a lesson in patience, and a reminder that art, like artists, can be resilient and evolve after a setback.

Booked & Busy: My Paintings’ Fall Social Calendar
Apparently, my paintings have more of a social calendar than I do. This fall they’ll be roosting in libraries, braving the elements at an art festival, and rallying for an encore. Come say hi if you’re in the neighborhood—the art loves company, and so do I.

Painting the Merry Men of Mount Rushmore - Update
Abraham Lincoln’s eyes are fixed, but his mouth is misbehaving. George Washington’s collar surprised me. Jefferson finally has a chin. My Merry Men of Mount Rushmore painting is testing my patience, one dab of paint at a time.

Nine Left Dead wins KATT’s Battle of the Bands! Every band shined, and while my drummer’s band Tretura didn’t take the crown, I couldn’t be prouder. Good luck to Nine Left Dead at KATT Fest!

Planning My Next Art Exhibition: Featuring The Octopus and The Slug (One Painting, Double the Personality)
And yes, we actually have graph paper. Yes, I measure each painting to make sure the spacing is perfect. I like to think of it as equal parts artistic vision and gallery logistics… though it probably just looks like I’m playing art-show Tetris with a ruler in hand.

Battle of the Bands: Tretura Takes the Stage
Matt’s band, Tretura, is competing in the KATT Battle of the Bands on August 2nd—and I’m officially that wife: the drum-fill-mentioning, ticket-selling, cymbal-appreciating type. Come cheer with us, vote in person, and help them bring the house down. It’s loud, it’s messy, and I wouldn’t trade this creative chaos for anything. 🥁🎸
