Between Seasons: My September StreetsmArts Gallery Wall

September is an odd month.

The calendar says summer is ending and fall is coming. And holy moly, it's almost 2027.

In Oklahoma, the temperature may or may not agree. We've had 25+ days of 100-degree temperatures and counting.

I'm headed to fall regardless.

I've been changing my StreetsmArts gallery wall throughout the year, and after a summer full of flamingos, it's time for a fall changeup.

I'm calling the September wall Between Seasons because that's pretty much where we are. Some of summer is still hanging around, but the wall is starting to move toward something a little different.

And maybe a little stranger. The fun insects are back, which is probably a fairly good indication that we're not headed toward a display of autumn leaves.

Figuring out the September wall has been more of a challenge than I expected.

While I'm deciding what should go up now, I also have to think about what I'm going to do with the wall in October. Then there is the Village Arts Festival on October 3–4.

So, I'm trying to balance the September wall, the October wall and the festival all at the same time. My timing is impeccable, as always.

That has made September a little more complicated than simply deciding which paintings I want to hang and where I want to put them.

Some paintings are staying. Some are going home. Others are coming to the gallery for the first time.

There is still plenty of color, but it definitely doesn't look like the summer wall anymore.

The other new arrival this month isn't hanging on the wall.

The 2027 Frank N. Stone calendars are now at StreetsmArts. Frank spent the year offering his observations on twelve of my paintings, despite the fact that absolutely no one asked him to.

He seems pleased with himself.

So, September is here. The wall has changed. The calendars have arrived. The festival is getting closer.

And somehow, we're almost to October.

Between Seasons seems about right.
