Jennifer Jones

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Being the third of eleven kids, the name isn’t just a nickname—it’s totally personal. Just like flamingos, Jennifer Jones’s art is colorful, surprising, and full of personality. Her creative journey kicked off with a simple question: What do insects do when no one’s watching? She imagined them parachuting, playing tag, or even marbles—and started painting these little creatures living the life of fun and adventure. From there, she built this lively world of animal portraits—any animal that caught her imagination and, most importantly, flamingos—all painted with bold colors and big personalities.

She then began exploring gargoyles and grotesques—those quirky, often scary statues you see on old buildings—and gave them human-like faces and emotions. These characters aren’t just for show; they’re cheeky, mysterious, and always up to something, leaving you wondering what’s going on.

Whether she’s painting a sassy flamingo or a human-looking figure that could’ve just stepped off a cathedral roof, Jennifer’s main goal is to tell stories through expression, bold exaggeration, and color. Her work is a joyful rebellion against realism—a celebration of what’s underneath the surface. Because sometimes, the best portraits aren’t perfect—they’re full of raw personality and spirited imperfection.

Her art has won various awards including the famed art show at the East Texas Yamboree (yes, there is such a thing as the Yamboree, it is the festival of the yam), the awards included the painting “Rockin’ Lizards” earning the award of Most Original of Show.  Just think, this adventure all began with a caterpillar.

The 3rd Flamingo logo was inspired by my siblings. Each of the flamingos represents one of my siblings. The third one, which is my birth order number is upside down and forms the "J" of Jones.
