Merrymen of Mount Rushmore: George Washington's Uneven Eyes

As I was posting the pictures of the Merrymen of Mount Rushmore, I noticed that something seemed off about George Washington. I looked at the picture and realized it was his eyes. They seemed uneven. Not enough to make him look crazy, just off.

George Washington's eyes a little off.
George Washington's eyes a little off.

I took out my handy T-square and confirmed. Yep, one eye was just a tish lower than the other.

So, of course I adjusted it. First raising one side, then lowering the other side and then taking another picture. Still, it seemed off. So, I adjusted, photographed, and

adjusted again and again.

He is closer to right now but not exactly yet.

Then I noticed his eyebrows were off. His mouth is a little off as well. So, now I am working on “fixing” those.

It is amazing how you can paint a canvas and think it is great; then, when you take a picture and see it from a different perspective, you see the flaws that "have" to be fixed.

It’s never-ending attention to detail.
