Discover the 2026 Humanized Grotesque Calendar: Twelve Faces You Can’t Look Away From

The 2026 humanized grotesque calendar has been months in the making, a labor of love that began with a single odd, unsettling, yet oddly familiar figure. One painting led to another, and before I knew it, I had twelve. Twelve figures, all dressed the same, yet each carrying a completely unique expression, a personality that insists you look closer.
This calendar is unlike anything I’ve ever created. Each figure is a tiny chaos-maker with its own secret life, and each invites viewers to pause, linger, and maybe even recognize a part of themselves in its gaze.
What fascinates me most is how people respond to these grotesque characters. The paintings that gave me the most grief, the ones I struggled over, painted over, and questioned endlessly are often the ones viewers cannot stop staring at.
And then there are the faces that make you wince, almost painful to look at, yet impossible to ignore. Like a train wreck you cannot avert your eyes from, these figures possess a strange, magnetic power.
I have given each figure a full backstory, imagining histories, quirks, and hidden lives for every grotesque character. I’ve also written accompanying blog posts for each painting to align with its appearance on the calendar.
There is something wonderfully absurd about taking twelve grotesque little humans, dressing them the same, and giving them entirely different personalities. The contrast between uniformity and individuality makes the 2026 humanized grotesque calendar truly unique.
This project has been meticulous, exhausting, occasionally maddening, but utterly exhilarating. I cannot promise I’ll ever do anything quite like it again. And yet, inviting twelve tiny provocateurs into the world has been profoundly rewarding. Each figure waits for someone to meet its eyes, linger a little longer, and maybe see something familiar, or completely alien, reflected back.
For me, the real joy is watching viewers pause, shiver, smile, feel unsettled, and then look again. These little grotesques are more than paintings; they are companions, provocateurs, and mirrors to the world, coaxed into existence one impossible expression at a time.
