Stamping around the World: Fun with Postcrossing Stamps

I’ve been meaning to write this blog for a while, but somehow there’s never enough time. Sometimes you just have to STOP and do the things you really want to do. So here we are, and the time is NOW!

One thing I didn’t expect when I joined Postcrossing.com was the endless parade of stamps I would get to see. The tiny works of art are almost enough to turn me into a philatelist (a stamp collector. I understand. I didn't know the term and had to look it up. :) ) No worries, Matt, I’m not starting a new hobby, at least not yet.

Stamps on postcards from around the world.
Stamps on postcards from around the world.

Many post-crossers are die-hard stamp collectors and request stamp variety. I’ve discovered that most of us, myself included, like to mix it up and use a variety of stamps. A little bit of everything makes the postcard extra fun for the lucky recipient.

And the stamps themselves are a delight. Bold colors, intricate patterns, tiny bursts of creativity that make you stop and smile. Sometimes I find myself staring at them longer than the message on the back. Stamps are stamping around the world like a mini art gallery on every postcard.

If you love surprises, tiny treasures, or just the joy of mail, why not send a postcard today? Your mailbox, and someone else’s, will thank you

Thanks for reading The 3rd Flamingo—a blog for art lovers, creative wanderers, and anyone who’s ever made a beautiful mess.
