Booked & Busy: My Paintings’ Fall Social Calendar

Apparently, my paintings have more of a social calendar than I do. While I’m still debating whether I can make myself go out to buy a new pair of fall boots, my canvases are already booked and busy. This autumn, they’ll be making the rounds across the Oklahoma City metro—tiny, colorful ambassadors of whimsy and chaos.

Here’s their travel itinerary:
September – Midwest City Library The flamingos are roosting among the stacks, and the octopuses are politely keeping their tentacles off the encyclopedias. (Yes, they still have encyclopedias. Libraries are magical like that.)
October – The Village Art Festival This one’s outdoors, which means anything could happen wind, sunshine, falling leaves, or rain. I’ll be there in person, wrangling my booth with two of my amazing sisters and the Merry Men of Mount Rushmore (hopefully not looking too scary by then). Expect smiles, banter, and at least one moment where I pretend, I totally know what I’m doing.
November – Mustang Library By the time November rolls around, my paintings may need a nap, but they’ll rally for one more show of the season. Think of it as their autumn encore performance.
It’s a fall full of art, art, and more art. While my canvases are out schmoozing with the public, I’ll be back in the studio pondering fixing up the Merry Men of Mount Rushmore and their uncooperative lips.
So, if you’re in the neighborhood of any of these events, stop by and say hi. The art loves company—and honestly, I wouldn’t mind the company either.
Thanks for reading The 3rd Flamingo—a blog for art lovers, creative wanderers, and anyone who’s ever made a beautiful mess.
